This is how my weekend went by. Great dawning, great splashing, great clean cold fresh air. Finally some time off the office, ready to conclude cute projects. Being around my furry kids, missing a few people. A quick trip ahead to catch up with them.

Así pasó mi fin de semana. Gran atardecer, gran empapada, excelente aire limpio & fresco. Finalmente algunos días libres de oficina, lista para concluir proyectos lindos. Estar con mis hijos peludos, extrañando algunas personas. Un viaje relámpago a corta distancia para alcanzarles.

Parece que en diciembre éste blog estará lleno de posts de wish list, otro colapso sin sentido de consumismo de mi parte...

La cosa es que he perdido mis gafas & soy super fan . Los retratos están buenísimos! Éstas son algunas (gafas & retratos) de mis favoritas (os) de Karen Walker. Puedes contemplar el resto aquí.

P.D. Tengo una fijación con los peinados de las pelucas & los hombres con barba (tambíen asunto para un futuro post).

I just can't make my mind between the white bunnie with the santa hat (first pic from above) or the baby blue with pale pink hat. My favorite color for the moment is grey but this bunnie with grungy sweater "a la cobain" is gone... i want them all!

Dificil desición, si llevar el conejito blanco con gorrito de santa (primera foto) o el azul con gorrito rosa pálido. Mi color favorito por el momento es el gris pero este conejo con su sweater grunge "a la cobain" se ha ido... los quiero todos.

goccoing!

At last! i used my gocco for the first time! I used 2 designs to brand the eh.mio paper bags, the first one, the one with the mushrooms, I forgot to place the blue sheet behind the screen so the paper won't stick on it, but it did :(, thats why the print looks incomplete, even though i loved the result. The second one was a piece of cake, i designed an acorn which will be the main element on the project. So the next thing would be to make more goccoing, have a few post cards in mind & the shooting of the products :D Enough writting, off to eat!

Por fin usé el gocco por primera vez! Use 2 diseños para brandear las bolsas eh.mio, en el primero, el de los hongos, cometí el error de no ponerle un tipo de acetato azul para que el papel no quede pegado en la malla, es por eso que la impresión sale incompleta, aún así me encantó el resultado. El segundo fué facilísimo, diseñé una bellota que será el elemento más usado en el proyecto. Lo que sigue es hacer más gocco, tengo unas postales en mente para imprimir & la toma de fotos de los productos :D Suficientes palabras, a comeeer!

Went to Franz Mayer Museum to see the World Press Photo '08 exhibition. Honestly it wasn't what i expected in terms of format, no. of pieces & the audience. The format was way to small so you have to get real close to read the descriptions. I remember a couple of years ago in which the format was big enough to appreciate the photograph at a decent distance. As for the audience i just HATE teens which apparently were on a school assignment & taking cell phone pics even at the descriptions & mostly to the really dramatic, bloody ones... which makes me wonder if i was that twisted &/or annoying??? or may be i'm just a bitter gal... For my luck another exhibition was showing, the X International Biennail of Poster in México from which i took pictures (with my camara, in case you wonder) of some of my favorites so i could share them here (i apologize if i was as annoying as the twisted teens with cell phone cameras at the W.P.P. '08)

Fuí al Museo Franz Mayer a ver la exposición del World Press Photo '08. Honestamente no era lo que esperaba en términos de formato, # de piezas & audiencia. El formato era demasiado pequeño así que tenías que acercarte demasiado para leer las descripciones. Recuerdo un par de años atrás en donde el formato era lo suficientemente grande para apreciar la fotografía a una distancia decente. En cuanto a la audiencia... ODIO a los pubertos que aparentemente estaban ahí por causas de fuerza mayor (tarea), tomando fotos con la cámara de su móvil, inclusive tomando fotos a las descripciones & a las fotos más dramáticas & sangrientas... lo cual me hace pensar si yo era asi de psyco &/u odiosa??? o simplemente soy una amargada. Para mi suerte estaba la Décima Bienal Internacional del Cartel en México de la cual tomé fotos (con mi cámara cabe mencionar) de algunos de mis favoritos para compartirlos por aquí (pido disculpas de antemano si fuí igual de odiosa que los adolescentes con sus móviles).

A week ago, my friend asked me to help her decorate her parents new café in Veracruz, usually 4 hours away from the city (6 with Friday traffic). So off we went, all the designs were made by my friend Adriana, the logo & bird on the refrigerator, the flowers on the 3 metallic pots & the red tree behind my Billie. It started to look terrific! Adriana's mom made me a café moka which was excellent, guanabana (exotic white pulp, delicious fruit) & blackberry smoothies & some delicious cookies and assorted candies, from San Luis Potosí (north east Mexico), imagine cinnamon & caramel covered pecans, chocolate covered coffee beans.
So go to your local coffee shop & support new & small business!

Hace una semana, mi amiga me pidió ayuda para decorar el nuevo café de sus padres en Veracrúz, a 4 horas de la ciudad normalmente (6 con tráfico del viernes). Así que fuímos, todos los diseños son de Adriana, el logo & pajarillo en el refrigerador, las flores sobre las 3 macetitas metálicas & el árbol rojo detrás de mi Billie. Empezó a verse buenísimo! La mamá de Adriana me preparó un café moka que le quedó excelente, smoothies de guanábana & zarzamoras & probamos algunas deliciosas galletas & dulces provenientes de San Luis Potosí (noroeste Mexicano), imagina nueces cubiertas de dulce de leche con canela, granos de café cubiertos de chocolate mmm... Así que ve a tu cafetería local & apoya a nuevos & pequeños negocios!
